Fish: Size of Coho Outmigrants 1998 |
|
Caption: The size distribution of outmigrant coho salmon from Caspar Creek indicates that the majority of juvenile fish were smolting at less than 100 mm in fork length in 1998. The large outliers in March and April indicate that two-year olds coho may have outmigrated in 1998 at a size range of 125-170 mm. Smolt size may strongly determine survivorship during ocean rearing stage of the coho salmon life cycle. See Info Links for more information.
