Temperature: Floating Weekly Average of LNF, Upper Vs Lower 1998 |
|
Caption: Floating weekly average water temperature at two Little NF Big River temperature monitoring sites indicates that stream warming occurred between these locations (BIG 10 and BIG 8) when 1993 (previous Topic) and 1998 results are compared. The approximate temperature difference between the upper and lower gauges changed from approximately 0.25 C to 0.75 C in 1993 and 1998, respectively. Conditions may have changed or probe placement could also contribute to differences. The 16.8 degree C stress threshold for coho salmon was chosen based on Welsh et al. (2001).
