Temperature: Floating Weekly Maximum Big River below SF 1993-96, 98 |
|
Caption: The floating weekly maximum water temperature of the mainstem Big River below the South Fork (HTC BIG1) was above 18.3 degrees Celsius in all years measured. The floating weekly maximum temperature shows that the Big River at this site routinely reached temperatures of 22-23 degrees C, which would be highly stressful to steelhead as well as coho salmon. Exceedence of the 18.3 degree C reference indicates that coho salmon are likely absent at this site according to findings of Welsh et al. (2001). See Info Links for more information.
