Caption:  The above chart plots floating weekly average (FWA) temperature at two South Fork Garcia River sites for the year 1997. The South Fork Garcia River FWA warmed 0.0 - 0.7°C as it flowed from the upper site to the lower site, and floating weekly average temperatures did not exceeded 16.8° Celsius at either site during 1997. Welsh et al. (2001) found that coho are not likely to persist where maximum floating weekly average temperature (MWAT) exceeds 16.8°C. See InfoLinks for more information.
