Caption:  The Chart above shows the median particle size distribution (D50) of the streambed at several locations in lower Rockpile Creek. This chart shows a D50 range in light blue which overlaps with the Knopp (1993) 95% confidence interval for median particle size of control streams or those that had at least 40 years rest from logging. Small average particle size can contribute to bedload mobility, which decreases salmonid spawning success. Data provided by Gualala Redwoods Inc. as part of timber harvest plans.
