Caption: This Chart shows the floating weekly average water temperatures at lower Bluff Creek (site 89) for the years 1997-2002. While the maximum floating weekly average water temperature (MWAT) exceeded 16.8°C, making it unsuitable for coho (Welsh et al., 2001); however, other salmonids would find conditions much more favorable than mainstem Klamath River conditions which reach acutely stressful or lethal. Temperature data come from automated water temperature data probes placed in the Klamath River and its tributaries by the Klamath National Forest and the Karuk Tribe.
