Caption: The floating weekly average water temperature of the Klamath River is shown for January through September 2000 from upstream to downstream: R-Ranch (below Iron Gate), Tree of Heaven, Seiad Valley, Orleans and Weitchpec. In January, interior locations at Tree of Heaven and Seiad have lower floating weekly average temperatures but switch to the higher values from April through June. During periods of highest fish stress in July, Orleans had the highest maximum weekly average temperature (MWAT), with Weitchpec slightly cooler. R Ranch is just below Iron Gate Dam where the river is still influenced by tailwater from the dam. Data were collected and entered into KRIS by the Yurok Tribal Fisheries Department, Water Rights Division, Weitchpec, CA. See Info Links for more information.
