Iron Gate maximum temperatures are cooler than downstream locations but still exceeded stressful for salmonids (>20C) from June to mid-September. The maximum water temperatures above the Salmon River were sometimes highest, but the Klamath River just below the Shasta was the warmest for most of the month of August.
