Habitat: Maximum Pool Depths in Maacama Cr and Small Tribs 1996-2001 |
|
Caption: This chart shows the maximum depth of pools measured during California Department of Fish and Game habitat typing surveys in Maacama Creek and its smaller tributaries in 1996, 1997 and 2001. Streams in the chart are sorted by Strahler order (with larger streams at the top), and reaches are numbered upstream beginning at stream mouths. The percentage of pools greater than 3 feet deep was relatively low for Maacama (fifth order) and Redwood (fourth order) Creeks. Pools deeper than three feet are preferred habitat for juvenile coho and older age steelhead. See InfoLinks for more information.
